Thank you for your papers and
registration for iCwes 11, the 11th International
Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists.
The iCwes conference has been held
every three years consecutively since 1964. This
conference provides an excellent opportunity for women
engineers and scientists to share their knowledge with
the international community, to help facilitate
networking, and to improve the social status of women in
science and technology.
We proposed "Science and Technology
for Global Ecology" as the theme for iCwes 11. We would
like to extend our network to protect the Earth on a
global scale via the exchange of experiences and ideas.
We have three key note lectures, two invited lectures,
seven plenary lectures, and more than 150 contributed
sessions. Furthermore, a Symposium (which is open to the
public), "Junior Scientists Conference" and various
social events are planned.
It is a great pleasure and honor
for our organizing committee to host this Conference for
the second time in Asia and for the first time in a
Far-East Asian country. We hope the Conference will meet
with the above iCwes goals, and we look forward to seeing
you in Chiba in July, 1999.
